A sustainable contribution. Hello World

“Hello World!” – the first small piece of code, which software developers know all too well. I want to start Brumboo’s first post with these two words, because they mean two things to me.

(a) A new exciting endeavour begins, and (b) It’s gonna come with a steep learning curve – as programming does – especially at the beginning.

Before getting caught up by the realities any business faces – namely sweat, tears and worries – I wanted to dedicate a dreamy article about why I decided to found Brumboo.

The purpose:

The main reason why Brumboo exists today, is that I wanted to dispose the two things I am reasonably good at (engineering and digital processes) to contribute to our common transition becoming a more eco-friendly, sustainable and autonomous society. Hopefully Brumboo and its employees will be able to make a local impact on energy transition and digital transformation of its partners. Saying this, I really don’t mean to advertise my company, as I wish best of luck to all our peers, who are pushing for the same vision!

Curiosity:

The second why! There are so many exciting new technological developments, some of which I just wanted to get involved with. The energy and environmental transition for instance, will be a huge task that will challenge the next generation of engineers. So many great and very necessary topics need to be addressed, like geothermal energy, hydrogen, solar, hybrid systems, energy storage, grid resilience, clean water and its supply, you name it. I’d very much like to see the people and companies in my region making a notable contribution.

Self-determination:

As a father, I know how important it is to keep the mental well-being of my family but also myself in mind. This is also the cornerstone Brumboo’s company culture, and being able to define it myself makes me happy. I also deem our society’s environmental impact – determining which place the next generation will inherit – to be of utmost importance. Moreover being able to influence the ecological footprint of Brumboo makes me feel good. Just think about the relevance of small decisions like home-office policies or making it easy to get to the office by bike instead of by car.

You could say that most business founders today probably have similar motives. For all of those who do – I wish you all the best!

I am looking forward to exchanging thoughts with you, to working with you on future projects and maybe to receive some thumbs-up for Brumboo along the way!

Yours sincerely,

Michael
